"School for Advanced Studies (SAS) for a long time has fostered a culture that promotes our students reaching out to help others in our community and around the world. At School for Advanced Studies, we feel that students who create service projects that are impactful in making our world a better place are equally important to excellence in academics. Few projects are more important in that regard than fostering increased literacy and that is especially meaningful among populations in areas of the world impacted by natural disasters. SAS Wolfson juniors Alex Martin, Marcos Gomes, and Federico Sammataro are to be commended for their initiative “Books Overseas” which is designed to address that need.
